I survived my first trip to Vegas, and had a great time. The weather was perfect for all of the walking and sightseeing Sean and I did. I even came home with some cash when I started winning on Star Wars penny slot machines on our last day there. It was weird – I went to 4 different casinos (including the airport) and won on the Star Wars machines each time, but only on that day. I guess Tatooine and Naboo were in proper alignment that day.
I also thought having slot machines in the airport was a great business move. You’re stuck at the airport, waiting for your plane and trying to save your magazines for the trip. Airport slot machines have a captive audience. If Pearson Airport had slot machines and the airport got a small percentage of the cash brought in, they could probably pay for their new terminal really quickly.
Pictures from the trip can be found here. I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked, but I got some nice shots. One thing I had to document were these cabbages in front of the Tropicana. My mother-in-law bought me the exact same cabbages last spring for my garden, and I thought it was neat that they could grow in such a different climate than Toronto’s. (Mine even looked almost that healthy before winter came!)
