I saw this statue when I was downtown with my cousin today (hi Sara!). Being a huge Queen fan, I had to stop and take a picture. It seems like a really over-the-top decoration for the theatre that is hosting the musical “We Will Rock You”, but Queen always was an over-the-top kind of band.
I’m intrigued by the musical, but at the same time, I think the story is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the prices to see Queen with Paul Rodgers at Massey Hall last year. I wasn’t paying $200ish a ticket to see someone who wasn’t Freddie Mercury singing Queen’s songs. I have nothing against Paul Rodgers, and I’m sure he’s a great choice for the band, but the tickets were just way too expensive.
